I love hobbies! I grew up amongst coin and stamp collectors. Fisherman. Gardeners. I've seen small communities of people come together over very specific topics, swap stories and laugh. I don't care how nerdy the hobby is, I think there's something really special about that. And I want some of that in my life.

People my age don't seem to take interest in learning new things. Especially living in a major city. We work and we play, but we rarely read or try to improve ourselves in a hands-on kind of way. And we have the whole freaking Internet available to us! We can learn anything we want.

When I'm older, I want to be able to tell my grandkids where ear wax comes from, point out cassiopeia in the sky or name what kind of tree that is. I want to know more. It's time to do some learning.

This coronavirus thing is scary. And being at home with the same people all the time can be hard. We need healthy creative outlets. Productive distractions. Space to learn and grow. I don’t know how long we're going to be in this situation, but at the very least, I want to make the most of it.
